I VOLTI DELLA POVERTÀ

L’arte in tutte le sue forme esiste in stretto legame con la vita sociale delle persone, apprezzando i suoi lati positivi, il progresso e le realizzazioni ed anche rivelando ed esponendo gli aspetti negativi della società e le conseguenze dell'attività umana. La vera natura dell'arte – non è solo bellezza e perfezione, è anche la realtà della vita e la sua verità amara, che spesso è brutta e spaventosa. La povertà appartiene ai disastri sociali che le persone ancora non possono superare in molti luoghi del mondo. Mentre per la maggioranza degli americani e degli europei la povertà sembra essere un problema lontano, milioni di persone in Africa e in altre regioni depresse del mondo lottano ogni giorno per la propria esistenza e la vita dei loro figli. Gli artisti con le loro anime eccezionalmente sensibili sono sempre stati tra i pionieri, combattendo i difetti particolari della società, identificandoli e gridandoli ad alta voce, cosa che le altre persone non possono o non hanno neanche voglia di notare. La fotografia sociale e la fotografia della povertà in particolare toccano molto gravi problemi dell'esistenza umana. Queste immagini sono piene di sofferenza, dolore e disperazione. Tuttavia, se si guarda attentamente in qualsiasi delle fotografie della povertà, raccolte sotto, si può notare un piccolo ma potente raggio di luce negli occhi della gente, in primo piano nelle foto. Questo raggio di luce è nato dalla speranza. Infatti, è la speranza che rimane con noi anche nei momenti più difficili, dandoci la forza per combattere il destino, ispirarci e farci credere che domani sarà un giorno nuovo e migliore
