“I have been traveling to Burma for over ten years, returning to many of the same villages, and photographing people who live and work on the Irrawaddy River. Aways composed and never candid, I make portraits of friends in their home environment, using natural light, minimal equipment, and a sense of humor. Although the news out of Burma is always political, I prefer to photograph the quiet elegance I see at every turn and which reminds me of early 20th century images.”
