Photographers love shadows and 'Running Man' is a wonderful study of this. 'Last Days of Summer' doesn't work as well; the lamp post is too close to the girls' heads, the car at top left is distracting and the subjects seem awkward. This could've been an opportunity to make a more formal, posed portrait with less depth of field and more considered eye contact. The saturated, contrasty light in 'Sunburst' makes for an engaging image. Completely different is the low sun in 'City Sunrise' - it's only the figure looking back that distracts. The cinematic 'l.i.f.e.g.o.e.s.o.n' is a perfect juxtaposition of two anonymous figures. It's the contrast between them that sets up the tension here, it's an excellent, telling photo. The cool street observation and the saturated colours, of 'English Eccentrics' makes a rather surreal image that certainly lives up to its title!
