HANS G. CASPARIUS | PHOTOGRAPHER

Hans Gustav Casparius was born in Berlin and is one of the most renowned photographers of the Weimar Republic. In 1930, he was active as a documentary photographer for the first time and accompanied the German travel writer Arnold Höllriegel (1883-1939) to Alaska and Canada. A few years later, in 1935, Casparius emigrated to London, where he founded the production company Music in Vision, Ltd. with the German film critic Hans Nathan Feld (1902-1992). The extensive photographic estate by Hans G. Casparius is now preserved in the Deutsche Kinemathek. (cbo) liveauctioneers
