Biografia
Jose Manuel Gomez was born in a small rural town in the province of Cordoba, Spain in 1940. Raised in a family of veterinarians, I moved to the city of Cordoba at the age of 17 To pursue his personal interest in the arts.
At the age of 19 he moved to Madrid, where he dedicated himself to playing the guitar in a band for 4 years and recorded 5 albums. Continuing his interest in music, I moved to Malaga, where he and some musician friends opened and managed a live music bar.
In 1964 I visited Paris, where I stayed, expanded his natural artistic talent, and definitively started to paint. His first collective exhibition was in Vannes, France, in 1965. Following several highly acclaimed exhibitions in Paris and other cities in France, I moved back to his country of birth in 1973.

He has participated in more than 30 single and collective exhibitions in various cities worldwide, including Amsterdam, Biarritz, Cannes, San Jose (Costa Rica), Nantes, Madrid, Mexico City, and Paris. Private collectors of his paintings include: Dassault Family - founders of the aircraft Mirage, Yves Rocher - French cosmetologist magnate and owner of one of the largest private art collections with over 50 of his early paintings, Saudi Royal Family and Kuwait Royal Family.

José Manuel Gómez nació en un pequeño pueblo rural de Córdoba, España, en 1940. Creció en el seno de una familia en su mayoría de veterinarios y se marchó a la ciudad de Córdoba a los 17 años para perseguir su interés en las artes.

A los 19 años se mudó a Madrid, donde se dedicó prácticamente a la música, de la cual vivió como guitarrista durante al menos 4 años, formando un trío con el cual grabó 5 discos. Continuando su interés en la música, se traslado a Málaga, y junto a otros amigos, empezaron a ejercer de músicos empresarios y abrieron un club.

En 1964 visitó París, donde se quedó a vivir y definitivamente empezó a pintar. Realizó su primera exposición en 1965 en Vannes, Francia. En 1973 regresó a España después de haber realizado numerosas exposiciones sumamente elogiadas en París y otras ciudades de Francia.

Ha participado en más de 30 exposiciones individuales y colectivas en ciudades como Amsterdam, Biarritz, Cannes, San José (Costa Rica), Nantes, Madrid, Málaga, Santander, México DF, y París.

Entre los coleccionistas privados del artista destacan: la Familia Dassault, fundadores de Aerolíneas Mirage, Yves Rocher, magnate francés de la cosmetología y dueño de una de las más grandes colecciones privadas con más de 50 de sus primeras obras, la Familia Real Saudita y la Familia Real de Kuwait.
