L’ARTE BAROCCA DI PEPÓN OSORIO

Pepón Osorio  è nato a Santurce, Puerto Rico, nel 1955. Fu educato presso la Universidad Inter-Americana a Porto Rico e Herbert h. Lehman College di New York e ha ricevuto un master presso la Columbia University nel 1985. Pezzi di Osorio, influenzati dalla sua esperienza come assistente sociale nel Bronx, solitamente evolvono da un'interazione con i quartieri e le persone tra cui sta lavorando. "Il mio impegno principale come artista è restituire arte alla comunità," dice.  I suoi lavori sono stati mostrati al Whitney Museum of American Art ed El Museo del Barrio di New York, Smithsonian Museum of American Art a Washington, D.C. ed el Museo de Arte de Puerto Rico ed El Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Puerto Rico. Pepón Osorio vive a Philadelphia.
