DANIEL BELTRÁ | PHOTOGRAPHER

Daniel Beltrá was born in Madrid, Spain, in 1964, and studied forestry and biology before taking up photography. He currently works as a conservation photographer, based in Seattle, USA. Previously, Beltrá has been a Gamma correspondent based in Madrid, a staff photographer for the Spanish agency EFE and a regular freelance photographer for Greenpeace. He is a Fellow of the International League of Conservation Photographers and has held solo exhibitions worldwide, from Spain and the UK, to China and the US. Beltrá’s awards include Gold and Bronze prizes and an award of excellence from the China International Press Photography Contest, awards from POYi and World Press Photo, and Veolia Wildlife Photographer of the year, in 2011. He lectures extensively, has contributed to a wide range of books and his work appears in such publications as Time,The New Yorker, Stern, Geo, and National Geographic.
