JESSE MCCLOSKEY

Jesse McCloskey is a painter originally from a tiny town in Massachusetts where little abandoned cemeteries list smallpox victims and stories of accused witches lay buried near the town green. He received a BFA from the Swain School of Design in Massachusetts and a MFA from Parsons School of Design in New York. He is a recipient of a New York Foundation for the Arts grant in 2005. Since that time he has been in numerous group and solo exhibitions. Most notably in “Shimmering Light Across American Culture” from the collection of Susan Brynteson at The Grolier Club in New York City in 2009 featuring Yaddo artists and “The Antidote”, a group show at Claire Oliver Fine Art Gallery in New York this year. Jesse is excited to now be showing exclusively with Claire Oliver Fine Art in New York and his first solo exhibition there openingin January. He also looks forward to a profile piece in Zink magazine coming out this winter. In addition to fine art, Jesse has also done illustrations for The New York Times and album cover art for Virgin records.
