With an expert eye for singular clarity and simplicity,
Eli Matityahu creates beautifully striking photographic prints full of color and movement. Primarily capturing subjects in motion or at high speed, Matityahu can fully reveal an image in which only minimal details of the subject emerge. He particularly enjoys identifying subjects with a unique angle or an unusual exposure. This creates a dynamic impression within which the subject is utterly transformed and becomes an artwork. By digitally editing the images they become entirely subsumed into the artist’s creative vision. Printed on metallic paper, Matityahu’s images retain a vibrant intensity that lends them a seductive glamor. Taken through his editing processes, the raw photographs gain a painterly quality and a delicacy of touch that is quite unique. Each image is filled with such a vital dynamism that one is entirely absorbed, the emotions and viewpoint of the artist flowing freely and naturally, as if they were one’s own thoughts.
