Carlo Mari,nato nel 1959, è un fotografo eclettico,
professionista, si occupa di fotografia di reportage, soprattutto di viaggio e
natura, ma lavora anche con la fotografia di moda e di pubblicità. E’ sempre in
viaggio per il mondo a documentare nuove realtà, ma da sempre è legato
all’Africa. E’ stato inviato per l’Africa dalla "The Harvill Press"
di Londra per documentare la vita dell’Africa dell’Est, realizzando lavori sul
paesaggio, sulla gente e sulle popolazioni tribali.
Tra i volumi pubblicati, di cui sei riguardano l’Est Africa con fotografie scattate soprattutto tra Kenya e Tanzania, ricordiamo “The Great Migration", "Pink Africa" e “My Africa” diventato un best sellers fotografico. Collabora da sempre con importanti scrittori come Kuki Gallmann, con la quale ha pubblicato il libro “SAFARI” ( F&T, 2002). Tra gli altri lavori pubblicati ricordiamo anche quello edito a Parigi nel 2003, il volume “Animal Man”, un'insolita ricerca sul tema della seduzione e, tra i lavori di reportage, ricordiamo quello realizzato nel 2009, per “ Leonardo International”, un volume su Papa Benedetto XVI in visita all'Abazia di Montecassino.
Senza tralasciare i due volumi di ritratto: "Gente d'Acqua" e "Cuore Di Vino", immortalati questa volta i più importanti produttori di Vino Italiano. (pro bambini profughi tibetani)
I suoi lavori sono stati pubblicati su importanti riviste internazionali come Zoom, Mondo Sommerso, Il Subacqueo, Sub, Le Monde de la Mer, Thauchen, Arte Navale, Geo Germania, Traveller, BBC magazine, Progresso Fotografico, Tutti i Fotografi, PCphoto, Photo, Gente Viaggi, Gulliver, Class, DU Natura, OneLife, Il Venerdì e molte altre.

Two important books are the result of this long cooperation: "The Great Migration", described by the authoritative BBC Wildlife Magazine as "…nothing less than a work of art" and "Pink Africa", an extraordinary photo story of the African pink flamingo.
He has always cooperated with famous writers among whom Kuki Gallmann for the book "SAFARI" (F & T, 2002).
In Paris he published the book "Animal Man", a research about seduction (2003).
